Abstract
The author describes the different styles and materials used in clothing, ornamentation, housing, and furniture under three 20th-century Mongolian political systems: Manchu Dynasty feudalism, Soviet-inspired communism, and market-economy democracy. This chapter from 'Modern Mongolia' (see documents nos. 24, 25 and 27) includes 30 photographs.
