Abstract
This study is a "limited and partial" examination of some facets of the changes in economic and social structure affecting the parroqíía of Nayón, a small settlement near Quito in the province of Pichincha. The author finds urbanization to be a more significant process of change in Nayón than [i]mestizaje[/i].
