Athapaskan migration via the intermontane region

Abstract
The authors analyze circular or sub-rectangular structures at sites ranging from the Plains across New Mexico and Arizona as far as California. They believe that the present archaeological evidence justifies the theory that a good part of the Southern Athapaskan migration was 'via the Inter-montane region and adjacent Rocky Mountain foothills to the east (but still west of the Continental Divide.)' Furthermore, they believe it was marked by a simple hunting culture.
