Abstract
This study traces the history of the San Francisco Bay Area Serbian community, and the subsequent development of its Serbian institutions. Vucinich discusses early Serbian immigration to the area, the development of various socio-political organizations, literary activities, the impact of the liberation wars (in Europe) on the North American Serbs, and the socio-economic development of the Serbian population in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1918-1980s.
