Abstract
This paper deals with traditional Hmong customs associated with pregnancy and childbirth as practiced in Southeast Asia, and does not necessarily represent the current practices of the North American Hmong. It is included as background information. Much of the material in this work related to the concepts of reproduction, pregnancy, birth and post partum practices was obtained from informants interviewed in a Hmong community in Lansing, Mich.
