Luzac and Co.V • Published In 1927 • Pages: viii, 331

By: Kanʻān, Tawfīq.

Abstract
This work is based on the author's personal observations of shrines and ceremonies, supplemented with material from recorded stories about the saints, verses sung by the people in honour of the saints, and a collection of amulets. There is extensive, well documented information on sites and types of sanctuaries, rites and practices, and the nature and character of the saints. Much light is thrown on the daily life and customs of the inhabitants of the former Palestine and on popular belief and superstition.
