Abstract: Brief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This article discusses the role of Balinese regional water
temple networks in irrigating and managing traced rice farms. In doing so, the author
argues that earlier studies have wrongly attributed the organization of Balinese irrigation
either to state bureaucracy or autonomous work groups.
