Abstract
This article discusses the manner in which the Bhils are reacting in their ecological environment to the changing market economy, technological improvement such as the introduction of new irrigation systems, improved connunications, urbanization, and multi-ethnic contacts with the Hindu castes and Christian missionaries. The interplay of these factors in addition to the introduction of developmental programs, have played an important role in bringing about a new type of resource utiliztion and settlement patterns for the Bhils.
