Abstract
This source covers the people and material culture, population trends, economy, and social and cultural life of Iswaramoorthipalayam, a village of Rasipuram taluk, Salem district, Madras (i.e., Tamilnadu). Among agricultural activities, of particular interest is the increasing amount of land given over to the cultivation of cash crops. A Telugu-speaking minority community of Oddars resident in the village has been largely responsible for introducing this pattern of cultivation.
