Abstract
The purpose of this source is to discuss '... bureaucratic behavior in a setting characterized by conflicting and changing cultural patterns'. After discussing the nature of the Dharmic, the British colonial, the community development, and the Ghandian cognitive models of organization, the author traces their influences on the development of the bureaucracy of the Agriculture Department of North Arcot district.
