Abstract
This monograph surveys the major social, cultural, and environmental features of a coastal village inhabited mainly by persons belonging to Hindu Scheduled Castes. Paddy agriculture provides most villagers with their livelihood; most cultivable land is leased by tenants from local Temple authorities. The authors conclude with suggestions for the improvement of agriculture and the quality of life in the village.
