Abstract
A chapter on languages from the book, "A Regional Handbook on Northeast China." It compares phonology, morpology, and vocabulary of the different Altaic languages, including Turkic, Mongol, Korean, Manchu, and Tungus. It also discusses some grammar of Tunguso-Manchurian and Mongolian languages. There is a brief mention of Japanese, English and Russian languages.
