Abstract
This article, written by a Kpelle chief of the Canton of Sonkolé (Nzérékoré), presents data on the annual agricultural production, income, and expenditures of a 'typical' Guerze polygamous family. Some information is also provided in this document on exchange transactions, in the local markets, of family-produced goods (e.g., agricultural products, palm oil, mats, etc.) for weapons, tools, foods and other manufactured products.
