Abstract: Brief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document This article provides a picture of life on Ifaluk in the 1990s. The focus is on male labor and subsistence patterns as reflected in house building, fishing and inter-household cooperation. It argues life on this attol remains very traditional, despite long years of administration under Yapese, Spanish, German, Japanese and American control.
