Abstract
This is a translation of the Awlad 'Ali legal code regarding homocides, theft, bodily injury, and liability. The code identifies a variety of situations which lead to death and stipulates the bloodwit, or DIYA, in each case. The law distinquishes between intentional and accidental deaths and assigns liability to hosts if a murder or theft should occur on their premises.
