Abstract
This work, based on the author's two years of field work in the Andaman Islands, discusses the ethno-cultural diversity of the islands as well as their socio-economic problems. These problems are analyzed in detail by Mann and suggestions and remedies offered as to ways and means of improvement. Included in the text of this document are data relevant to the ethnic composition of the islands - both immigrant and native, and several chapters on various aspects of Jarawa and Onge ethnography.
