Abstract
This brief article reports on public health efforts to control onchocerciasis (river blindness), schistosomiasis, guinea worm, and malaria in the Dogon plateau in the Republic of Mali. The document discusses the vectors and incidence of these diseases and the nature and success of the efforts to control and eradicate them. The article also reports on the impact of these diseases on the Dogon and the Dogon attitudes toward and participation in the public health efforts.
