Abstract
This collection of Warao folk tales (De-Nobo) was gathered in a period of five weeks in 1954; the main informant was the chief-priest of the Winikina Warao who inhabit the central part of the Orinoco Delta in Venezuela. The tales are divided into sections dealing with various subjects such as: Tales of Origin, Tales of Men and Women, Tales of Animals, Tales of Enemies, etc. Various versions of the same tale are often given.
