Abstract
This study '...examines the impact of tourism on the Tongan economy and the social and cultural problems associated with the advent of recent mass tourism' (p. 83-84). Basically, this source is a re-analysis of the data found in 90:Urbanowicz, with new information on such aspects as the Tongan government's support of the tourist industry and the development of a 'phony-folk-culture' for the benefit of the tourist spectator.
