Abstract
This source deals with the medicinal uses of 59 plant species. Included in the discussion are information on the geographical distribution of the species and some cross-cultural data on medicinal uses of the plants. According to the author, the use of plants in medicine is rapidly being replaced by Western medical care and few Tongan herbalists remain. The researcher interested in ethnobotany and medicinal plants should also consult document 88:Thaman.
