Abstract
This source is a series of comments covering a variety of topics in the 1966 Tongan census, including comparisons with the 1956 census. The topics included are: population trends; overcrowding and housing shortages; natural, agricultural, and human resources; male and female employment; the land tenure system and pressure on the land; marriage rates and average age at marriage; unemployment, underemployment, and the lack of industrialization. The article is a valuable contribution to understanding contemporary trends in Tongan society.
