Abstract
This is a study of the Catholic church-based “Drueulu Women's Group” during implementation of the Matignon Accord, which sought to address New Caledonian economic and social inequality. The author discusses how the group organized and mobilized around the issue of male alcohol abuse as part of a broader goal to address community welfare and gender inequality.
