Abstract
This paper consists of a collection of ethnographic notes on the Outer Reef Islands located in the northern Santa Cruz Island chain, with particular emphasis on the island of Nupani. As with several other articles by Davenport in this file (e.g., Davenport, 1968, 1969, 1969, nos. 9-11), major emphasis is on social organization, but with other major topics covering geography, demography, culture history, settlements, men's associations, marriage (especially in regard to bride price), kinship and kin groups, trade, maturation ceremonies, mythology, and the supernatural world.
