Abstract
This is a brief descriptive analysis of Kapauku political structure. Pospisil begins by giving a background summary of the Kapauku culture. He then describes the various groups in which an individual Kapauku is placed socially, from the nuclear family to the political confederacy. These groups can be organized by kin, common residence, or on other specified bases. Pospisil concludes with an analysis of the structure of authority and of the nature of law among the Kapauku.
