Abstract
This source is a study of the genesis and development of the so-called 'Yega Scheme' of agriculture undertaken by the Yega Orokaiva under the advisement of government agricultural officers. In essence, the 'scheme' involved the clearing of land and planting of cocoa trees for cash crop production. The source discusses in detail concomitant changes in land use and land tenure, settlement patterns, and labor supply as the result of this development plan.
