Abstract
This study of Mormon childbearing begins with an overview of Mormon history, Church organization, and kinship. The author also examines Mormon pro-natalist theology and its effect on fertility. The rest of the document is based on the author's own interviews with twenty women who discuss family values, teenage pregnancies, divorce, midwives, non-Mormon doctors, and observances before, during and after childbirth.
