Abstract
This is a synopsis of some of the major phases of Zuni economy from the establishment of the Zuni Reservation in 1877 to the 1970s. Ladd, himself a Zuni, discusses population statistics, the household as an economic unit, labor and income, special crafts (especially silversmithing, and jewelry manufacture), and the importance of livestock raising and agriculture to the basic economy. Cultural changes with time are noted throughout the text.
