Abstract
This source, prepared after laboratory work at the American Museum of Natural History, the Field Museum of Natural History and the United States National Museum, describes the basketry of the San Carlos Apache, specifically addressing the gathering and preparation of materials, methods of weaving and typical forms; forms and proportions, ornamentation, designs and elements. Comments are made regarding the distinctiveness and similarity San Carlos basketry has with that of other southwestern groups. Illustrations are included.
