Smithsonian Institution Press9 • Published In 1970 • Pages: ix, 75

By: Williams, Aubrey W..

Abstract
This source describes several political forms and their degree of incorporation in Navajo life. The author is primarily concerned with the Chapter and he discusses it in terms of acculturation theory. In addition, there is information on the history of the Tribal Council, the Grazing Committees, and Navajo political behavior. The conclusion is that the Chapter organization has been successfully integrated because it is largely based on pre-existing Navajo political forms and behaviors.
