By: Bergman, Robert L..

Abstract
This source surveys changes in the number and quality of Navajo health services, beginning with the reluctance of the tribe to the introduction of Euro-American medicine and ending with the training of Navajo doctors. The role of Annie Wauneka as a health educator is discussed, as is this relationship between traditional Navajo beliefs about illness and Western ideas.
