Abstract
This article by an historian who has specialized in Navajo matters and by a Navajo, discusses the possible location of the four sacred mountains mentioned in myth as bordering the Navajo country. They give the mythological account of the creation of all mountains located in Navajo country and describe sacred shrines and objects found by them at various mountainous sites.
