Abstract: Brief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document This source provides a summary of the salient features of Hopi ceremonial organization, based as it is on the year as a temporal unit and the village or mesa as a spatial unit. Ceremonies are briefly discussed, with some emphasis given to the clan and kiva affiliations of the participants in each of the rituals. The author also notes variations in the ceremonies between First, Second, and Third Mesa villages. A very useful table (Table 2) summarizing the above will be found in the text on page 575.
