Abstract
This is a comprehensive study of the various ways in which native plants are used by the Hopi Indians (e. g. food, medicine, dyes, basketry, etc.). Each entry, arranged alphabetically, provides the botanical name of the plant, its Hopi name, a detailed section on utilization, and concludes with the distribution of the plant in the area. A brief account of the history of the Hopi Indians prior to 1540, based on archaeological evidence, will be found at the end of this work.
