By: Michelson, Truman.

Abstract
Michelson has included in this source three separate Fox texts each of which was prepared for him by his informants, which he further supplemented and corrected for publication. The first of these texts, 'The Wolf Gens' is yet another example of the ritualistic origin myths of the various Fox clans recorded by the author in other sources. The notes following this story provide some rather scattered but ethnologically interesting pieces of information on various aspects of Fox culture. The second tale, 'The One Whom the Moons Blessed', provides much data on native beliefs and ideas about the seasons. The Indian text of this tale is presented on the even pages of the source with its English translation on the odd. Linguistic notes by the author are presented at the end of the text. The final entry, 'When the War Chiefs Worship the Wolf,' is another ritual origin myth of the War Chiefs clan. Several variations of this tale are recorded by the author from the accounts prepared for him by his informants. It is suggested that the researcher refer to Michelson's 'Introduction', for further background information on the texts comprising this source.
