Abstract
This source contains a tally sheet sent by Spanish authorities to the Comanche leader Equeracapa. The tally sheet is of interest both as an example of Comanche pictographic writing and as a source of some data concerning Comanche military organization. The author has included a reproduction of the portion of the document containing pictographs and a translation of the tally and related documents. Included is a list of leaders, translations of their names, the names of their groups, and estimates of the number of tents in their groups.
