Abstract
In this article, the authors describe the contributions of various exiled Cuban musicians to four major musical categories; folk elements, as found in MUSICA CAMPESINA (country music) and MUSICA RITUAL YORUBA (Yoruba ritual music); popular music; latin jazz, and classical. The authors describe the nature of each style of music and the musicians associated with each. The work concludes with a listing of Cuban American composers and instrumentalists.
