Abstract
This article attempts to reconstruct various aspects of Chippewa subsistence activities and social life based on Alexander Henry's account of his life with the Wawatam family of Chippewas in northern Michigan during the years 1763-1764. Quimby, drawing from Henry's narrative, abstracts data on family life, clothing and ornaments, shelter, travel and transportation, and seasonal activities.
