By: Herman, Mary Woody.

Abstract
This document examines early seventeenth century Huron ownership rights with respect to movable property and the degree to which such rights are embedded in broader cultural practices. The author discusses reparation payments, labor cooperation, trade transactions, hospitality, feasting, and gift-giving. In general, Huron customs discouraged the personal accumulation of movable property and instead allowed it to circulate through the society.
