Abstract
This is an excellent ethnographic survey of two Copper Inuit communities of Coppermine and Holman and their hinterlands in the Northwest Territories of Canada. The primary time focus of this study is from the 1950s to the mid 1960s. Major topics discussed are geography, the historical backgound of the region, population, settlements (including data on housing, health, and education), various forms of transportation, renewable resources in the environment, and the income and family expenditures of various Inuit households. The document contains many maps, figures, tables and plates.
