By: Lacroix, Laurier, Homel, David.

Abstract
This is a brief study of nineteenth century art and artists in Quebec, Canada. Lacroix describes the various pieces of art (mostly paintings) imported from Italy into Quebec during the early to mid 1800s, and then turns his attention to the Italian Canadian artists themselves -- their training under the great masters of Italy, and their eventual return to Quebec to produce their own works in the artistic media of the day (sculpture, painting, plaster, etc). Several photographs in the text illustrate their works.
