Abstract
The major topic of this study is the Italian immigrant labor force in Montreal, Canada during the period of 1880-1930. Ramirez describes the various types of labor available to the immigrants, kinship and PAESI networks used in obtaining work, ethnic discrimination, and cases in which Italian workers developed their own entrepreneural enterprises.
