Abstract
This work explores the writings of various Italian authors, including articles in the Italian press, which have had an influence on emigration from Italy to Canada during the 1860s through the early twentieth century. Serio also discusses the influence of immigration in creating a demand for foreign goods in Canada, as well as the role of the Italian Immigrant Aid Society in attending to the needs of the newly arrived immigrant population.
