Abstract
This study analyzes the historical development and structural patterns of two Korean communities in Georgia -- an academic community, Athens, and an urban community, Atlanta. Lee analyzes the structure of the two communities in terms of social interaction (network linkage). 'The nature of the network is presented under each stage and each network belongs to a certain level having a different degree of durability. The structure of relationships between Korean residents in the Atlanta and Athens areas seems to develop from simple to complex as the population increases. The population increase brings a multinetwork pattern by way of institutionalization and segmentation' (p. 165).
