Abstract
This is a comparative study of the social and economic adjustments to mainstream American society made by two ethnic groups, widely diverse in point of origin and in culture -- the Armenians and Japanese Americans. The author limits her inquiry to the Los Angeles County area of California, and focuses on the second generation Armenians and Japanese Americans (NISEI). Because this document is strongly comparative throughout, only those data directly relevant to the Armenian Americans have been indexed for the appropriate OCM codes. Specific cultural data on the Japanese Americans have not been indexed for any of the OCM codes. The reader is advised to check carefully the provenience of the information before using it for any research purpose.
