Abstract
This source examines the physical attributes of two samples of Hmong PAJ NTAUB to determine what changes have occurred between the years 1977-1979 and 1981-1983. (PAJ NTAUB is a form of decorative design applied to clothing, belts, sashes, etc., involving various aspects of embroidery, applique or batik.) Each piece in the collected sample was analyzed and the finding interpreted in respect to additional data provided from interviews with individuals assisting the Hmong. These data were then submitted to an analysis of variance using chi-square and the 'z' test. The results revealed a statistically significant decrease with time in the average number of borders, number of colors, and ornamental construction techniques used per piece (p. ii).
