Cornell University PressIthaca • Published In 1987 • Pages: xviii, 191

By: Zavella, Patricia.

Abstract
In this book Zavella, drawing on revisionist social theories relating to Chicano family structure as well as on feminist theory, paints a picture of Chicano women who work in northern California's fruit and vegetable canneries. The material which appears here combines social history, shop floor ethnography, and in-depth interview techniques to explore the linkage between Chicano family life and gender inequality in the labor market (cover).
