Abstract
This collection of common proverbs was made by the author during a two-year residence in southern Persia. The list was checked for authenticity by three educated Persians. The text of the proverbs are not indexed for subjects, and except for one or two statements in the introduction to the text, only scattered ethnographic data have been indexed for the Iran file.
