Abstract
The author spent some time traveling in Persia on behalf of a British firm of engineering consultants employed by the Persian government. He describes the importance, problems and effectiveness of irrigation development in Persia up to 1953. There is a detailed account of the Zayandeh Rud scheme for irrigation and hydroelectric power development.
