Crossing the green line between the West Bank and Israel

By: Bornstein, Avram S..

Abstract
In this monograph, Bornstein looks at Palestinian life on both sides of the Green Line, the border between Israel and the West Bank. He discusses how the border demarcates the rights and identities of people living on both sides. The border also regulates the flows of capital, labor, and commodities, in terms favorable to Israelis, and therefore is an important factor in the Israeli economy. There is little here on politics, such as HAMAS, the PLO, or the Intifada. It is more a fine grain study of local families and households, migrant labor, businesses, life styles, and Israeli-Palestinian relations.
