Features of the demography of Palestine

Population studies2 • Published In 1949 • Pages: 92-114

By: Loftus, Patrick Joseph.

Abstract
The author is here concerned with the theory of substantial illegal immigration into the former Palestine of Arabs from neighboring countries and, more particularly, the illegal immigration of Muslim women as the explanation for the rapid growth of the Arab population in that area. Basing his discussion upon census statistics taken by the British Administration, Loftus covers a number of demographic features such as immigration, population distribution by marital status, sex, age, birth and mortality rate and fertility rate.
